Hi Ms. Scheld,
I was wondering how to do question 10 on pg 47; does it want us to use the equations on both graphs?

You don't really need to use the function for either graph, just look at the y-axis and estimate the height of the rectangles; for ex. the first rectangle in the left graph should be about 0.75 * pi/4 for height*width. Then just add up all the areas for each graph separately, and compare (for part b.). They should be similar numbers.

I'm confused about 12 on page 94, I don't see where you find the actual values for vo when r tends to zero, does that mean just plug in any # close to 0?

For a) you want to find the value for v0 yes, when v = 0. So think of what happens when r is huge, and what v0 would have to be in order to make the whole square root = 0.

For b and c, you just want to solve for v0 again (it's ok to have variables here)
